What areas does Sierra serve?

We are registered in the state of NJ. We mostly serve the northern New Jersey area.

 

What is “Softscaping”?

Softscaping is the art of beautifying a particular area through the installation and maintenance of shrubs, trees, and lawns.

 

What is “Hardscaping”?

Hardscaping is the permanent part of your landscape. It can be created with natural or engineered stone or wood. Hardscaping is used to define or separate areas of a property.

 

Does Sierra do Snow Removal?

At Sierra we are proud to offer a timely, professional and fully insured service to both our residential & commercial clients. Our crews are properly trained in removal practices and are on call during the winter season.

Are Landscapers Required to have Workmens Compensation Insurance Policies?

New Jersey law requires that all New Jersey employers have workers’ compensation coverage.  Even out-of-state employers need workers’ compensation coverage if work is performed in New Jersey. The client may be responsible for workmens comp claims if the contractor does not have a policy. Sierra Landscape Management, LLC protects our workers and clients by carrying workers’ compensation coverage.

 

Are Home Improvement Contractors required to be licensed in NJ?

NJ Div of Consumer Affairs requires any contractor performing home improvement work to be registered. This includes Planting, Mulching, Landscape Installations, etc. Registration involves an interview process to verify your contractor has not been convicted of criminal business practices as well as ensuring the business carries the proper insurance. Sierra Landscape Management, LLC is registered with the NJ Div of Consumer Affairs.

 

Do contrators require a license to apply Pesticides?

Pesticides in NJ are governed by the Dept of Environmental Protection. They require all pesticide business applicators to be licensed. This includes commonly available products such as Round-Up, Weed and Feed, Weed B Gone and many others. Sierra Landscape Management, LLC carries a NJDEP pesticide license and suggests that all applications are performed by a licensed applicator.
